Knowledge Management

In addition to helping organisations engage with their external stakeholders, Community Builders is committed to building organisations that are collaborative through the use of knowledge sharing tools including wiki and document management systems.

We use a wiki extensively to help share information within Community Builders.  We also recently launched the www.australianhashtags.org wiki as a public place where people can go to find and record the hashtags that are being used in public discussions around Australia, through social networking platforms such as Twitter. These hashtags are the key to unearthing the plethora of public discussion taking place online on issues of both civic and personal interest.

Our Corporate MemoryTM platform assists organisations manage their knowledge through the open source KnowledgeTree document management system. Corporate Memory provides a secure online document repository, with version control, discussion space and a strong audit trail, that enables clients to access their documents electronically, in almost any part of the world.

Our SMS gateway can also help organisations share important information almost instantly across their workforce, to clients and to local constituents. It can also be used to empower local constituents by enabling them to report potholes or other dangers and issues by SMS, in a way that can easily be tracked and then forwarded to the relevant local council employee.

Open Innovation

As big supporters and users of Open Source technologies, it is not surprising that we believe Open Innovation can help our clients achieve their goals more rapidly.

Consequently, we are assisting legal.consult with the development of online tools for the upcoming launch of Free Open Creative Law - a hub for information and discussion around Open Innovation and "public" licensing models.
